Excerpt

".....I thought I’d give you an overview of what you’re getting into so that you can pack appropriately. But personally? I’d just come empty handed. The less you carry, the more you can take back with you, y’know? Keeping an inquisitive mind and an open heart has been my approach to life and it hasn’t gone wrong yet.
Now I may be biased, but having traveled the realm a good bit I still believe no place is quite as beautiful or enchanting as Vehaar. The food, the people and the landscapes are all as well seasoned and colorful as you’d expect. But my land comes with its own set of struggles. Some people believe that the increased tourism lately has robbed Vehaar of its identity. But, I don’t agree! I think we can protect the environment and safeguard the sanctity of our holy sites and still welcome people in. The world is lonely if you don’t get to know your neighbors…
Besides, it's not all of the visitors that are threatening our traditions and our natural beauty; its technology! Everyone seems to be glued to their sending stones these days. Kids can’t even name the deities whose blessings make our crops grow but they can name who is on top of the music charts or who has scored the most false golden idols this year at the Aakash Vollywood Awards. But I digress, this isn’t the place nor the time to get into this, but hopefully you and I can discuss it more over a hot cup of chai. It’ll be a little chilly if you’re coming in the late fall; but its perfect festival season and that makes it worth it!
I’ve included some brochures from the tourism department that can maybe help you make an itinerary while you’re here! Whether you’re looking to rough it outdoors or hit the market and get some Vehaari drip, I’m sure you’ll find something to suit your fancy.
Look me up if you find yourself near Diwaney or if you need a ride from the station! You’re practically family already but I hope we can be friends, too......"

Inspired by growing up in India, I created a new fantasy realm to play a special game of Dungeons and Dragons with my friends, and then, well, I decided to put it on camera. From attaining $150k in crowdfunding to filling theaters around the US, DesiQuest is a scrappy indie production that is close to my heart and closer to my home.
