A Small Piece of the Story
I spent the first few years of my life in the United States before picking up and moving to India right when I was getting the hang of existing and I've been wandering ever since. After completing a majority of my schooling in Punjab, I moved to Washington state and Seattle holds the record for being the longest I've ever called a place home.
I told my parents I wanted to be a writer when I was 8 years old, somewhere around the time I finished reading A Wrinkle In Time. This was not the greatest news for my first generation immigrant parents who preferred the idea of me going into a more stable line of work but a few years of pre-med and organic chemistry later, here I am. For although I excelled at the classwork, the for-profit college system in America involved taking on crippling debt or dropping out early and getting a job and I chose the latter. It was the best decision I ever made.
A handful of years and a couple of custom PC builds later and I have the job that 8 year old me dreamed of. Although my gateway into the world of writing was tabletop RPGs, I've since been able to consult and work on a variety of video games (my first love!). I wish I could tell you about them, but they are all still in the oven and NDAs are pesky little things.
